Why I have always supported Ron Paul
If we
have the god-given individual rights to Life, Liberty and Property, then we must
also have the collective right to defend them. Also, if we do not have the individual
right to violate another individual’s life, liberty or property, then what moral
authority gives us the collective right to use government by legislation, to violate
an individual’s right to life, liberty or property? None!!!
·
I support Ron Paul, because he is the only man
in Congress who not only predicted our financial collapse long before it
happened, and even detailed what was going to cause it; but had the courage to
face the ridicule from his colleagues and the media for publicly warning us.
·
I support Ron Paul because he has proven time
and again, by his voting record, to be the “only” man in Washington that
deserves my trust. He has remained true to his sworn oath to defend the
Constitution, despite being ostracized for it; and refused to bend to the will
of his party leaders or lobbyists.
·
I support Ron Paul because he puts educating the
people about Liberty, an honest monetary system, and a moral Foreign Policy,
above any desire to be elected to office.
·
He has taught us about Austrian economics
·
He has taught us about the Federal Reserve
·
He has taught us by his example about following
the rule of Law and the Constitution
·
He has taught us by his example about holding to
your principles
·
He has taught us by example that you CAN be an
“honest” member of Congress
·
He has taught us about “just war principles”
·
He has taught us that one man CAN make a difference
·
He has taught us that NO government and NO army
can stop an idea whose time has come
I support Ron Paul because he has demonstrated remarkable courage; never compromising his moral principles and maintaining his faith in the American people; that one day we will realize the benefit of restoring true freedom for ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren.
For those
who haven’t been able to bring themselves to supporting Ron Paul, it is usually
because they agree with the main-stream media accusation; that he is wrong on
Foreign Policy.
Our
nation has had our current Foreign Policy for decades. In that time, our
government has stolen Trillions of dollars in wealth from the American people
in debt and interest, and given our money to dictators, drug-dealers and
terrorists. We have sacrificed thousands of our young warriors who were willing
to commit their lives to protecting this nation and her Constitution.
And
what is the result? Has it made us safer?
Take
a close look at the results:
·
Thousands
of American civilians killed.
·
Thousands
of military men and women killed in action or dead from suicide
·
Thousands
of American families devastated by the loss of loved ones
·
Hundreds
of thousands of military men and women permanently disabled
·
Hundreds
of thousands of innocent men, women, and children from foreign countries, killed
in the conflicts.
·
Loss of our freedoms
·
Dismantling of our Constitution and the Bill of
Rights
·
Trillions
of dollars of debt to be burdened by our children, grand-children, and
children yet to be born
·
A dangerously unstable Middle East region
·
An unstable oil market, resulting in
skyrocketing gas prices
·
A crippled and vulnerable American economy
·
NEED I GO ON???
With
this kind of results, how could I possibly believe that the people who have
been running our Foreign Policy are right? The only people who have benefitted
from this insane Foreign Policy are the war profiteers. (Banks and Weapons Manufacturers)
·
I support Ron Paul because of his Foreign Policy
position. Many people in the military, the CIA, foreign intelligence agencies,
and national leaders, also agree with Ron Paul.
Ron
Paul is right on Foreign Policy. He believes, as the founders did, that we
should not intervene in the affairs of other nations. Apparently, even the majority
of the military we so often like to say we support, have also shown their
support for Ron Paul, who served in the military for 5 years. But what do they
know?
The
last thing I want to share with you on this subject is a quote from Herman
Goring, who said:
“Naturally
the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in
America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders
of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag
the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a
parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can
always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to
do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack
of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any
country.”
When
I look at all the candidates, I see one major difference in Ron Paul. The difference
was so eloquently described by Rafi, a blogger from Israel, as “soul”. He went
on to say, “The essential soul of a human
being is by definition free. The idea that men are free as determined by God is
a concept that is foreign to most men, because most men want to control others;
they want the power to take away or restrict their freedom.”
I
couldn’t agree more.
·
I support Ron Paul because he wants no power.
It’s clear to anyone who actually listens to him speak or reads his books.
Although a President does have some powers temporarily granted to him, Ron Paul
believes there is only one legitimate thing that power can and should be used
for; whether it is military, legislative, or executive power; which is, to
protect our freedom.
·
I support Ron Paul because he is incorruptible. I
never hear contradictory statements from him, and he has remained consistent in
his message and his principles.
·
I support Ron Paul because for decades he has
been tirelessly lighting brushfires in the minds of men and women, young and
old; activating their human souls and awakening that intense desire to
experience true freedom.
Another blogger, Rick George once wrote:
“Liberty is not
simply a choice, like one chooses a political party. Liberty is a Law. One both
accepts Liberty and masters its principles, or one settles for something less.
A nation either embraces Liberty completely, or accepts a substitute. Those who
love Liberty recognize Ron Paul's mastery of it, despite his human frailty, and
they will not accept a substitute.”
Because
of Ron Paul, I will never stop fighting for the ideas that he and I believe in.
Before Ron Paul ran for President in ‘2008, I had given up on the idea of
changing the hearts and minds of people I knew. But like so many others, he
cured my apathy too.
As long as Dr. Paul continues his campaign
for Constitutionally limited government, sound money, a moral and humble
foreign policy, freedom, prosperity and Peace; I will be ready to stand
shoulder-to-shoulder with him, because this nation and what made this nation
great, is worth defending. As one young man in the Ron Paul campaign said, “Let it never be said, we did nothing."
Like everyone who supports Ron Paul; when
you discover the truth, you feel a responsibility to act. Rick George went on to say, "Most people prefer to believe their leaders are just and fair
even in the face of evidence to the contrary, because once a citizen
acknowledges that the government under which they live is lying and corrupt,
the citizen has to choose what he or she will do about it. To take action in
the face of a corrupt government entails risks of harm to life and loved ones.
To choose to do nothing is to surrender one’s self-image of standing for
principles. Most people do not have the courage to face that choice. Hence,
most propaganda is not designed to fool the critical thinker but only to give
moral cowards an excuse not to think at all." I have often asked myself, why I have this almost uncontrollable need to try and convince people that Ron Paul is the right man to be our President. It wasn’t until I read Ron Paul’s book, “Liberty Defined”, that I found my answer.
In his book, Dr. Paul referenced author Elie Weisel, who told the story of the one righteous man of Sodom, who walked the streets protesting against the injustice of the city. People made fun of him, derided him. Finally, a young person asked: “Why do you continue your protest against evil; can’t you see no one is paying attention to you?” He answered, “I’ll tell you why I continue. In the beginning I thought I would change people. Today, I know I cannot. Yet, if I continue my protest, at least I will prevent others from changing ME.”
Rafi, also said, “Not everyone can handle the message of freedom. It’s too frightening for some people, and some are just too enslaved. Those are the people who despise Ron Paul; the same types who rebelled against Moses in the desert and attempted to go back to Egypt. Freedom is too much for them and they can’t handle the Divine gift. They want and need someone to control them. Their souls have been too battered by debt, taxation, and wars.”
I
support Ron Paul because he has demonstrated to be the only true Statesman
running for President. As former NJ Supreme Court Justice, and Fox News Senior
Judicial Analyst, Andrew Napolitano said about Ron Paul, “in his heart and in his head, in his character and in his intellect,
in what he has done and what he will become, the Thomas Jefferson of our day,
Ron Paul is one of us.”
Many people in the media have resorted to nick-naming Ron
Paul supporters as Paulbots, Paulians, or Ronulans, as somehow they were
unknowingly assimilated into the Ron Paul movement. The truth is…those who
support Ron Paul formed their political ideas well before Ron Paul became
nationally known. They aren’t following Ron Paul, they are collectively leading
a revolutionary movement with Dr. Paul as their chosen messenger. He is truly one of US, and we just happen to be lucky enough that he
stepped up to offer his help.
